The peaks cam project... a live view since 1996
The "live" shot of the San Francisco Peaks comes from a video camera
on the second floor of the
Southwest Forest Science Complex on the campus of Northern Arizona University.
The camera looks North over the city of Flagstaff. The idea behind
the project is to add a dynamic element to our Rocky Mountain Research
Station Flagstaff Lab homepage.
The camera records images during daylight hours only.
Don't have a view from your office? By clicking on the "Take a Peek"
button you will get a view of the peaks that refreshes every minute.
Requires java script.
Time lapse movies of the 2001 Leroux fire from the webcam (each is about 800k). The action starts about 2:00 pm June 11th. During this period we were having our building re-roofed
so you may see some roofers walk in front of the camera. You may also see some passing trains. June11_01.avi, June12_01.avi, June13_01.avi
