Fort Valley Cooperative Weather Station

History:
Fort Valley weather observations have been reported to the Weather Service since 1909. This was one year after the establishment of Fort Valley as the first Forest Service Research site. Early research focused on ponderosa pine regeneration. More information about Fort Valley.

Data Availability:
Access to 30 minute summaries for the period March 23, 2003 at 0700 through February 2010 are available at the Rocky Mountain Research Station Data Archive Included in the metadata there is information on how to access daily summaries for Fort Valley from August 1909 through January 2010 from the National Climatic Data Center. The data sets available there for Fort Valley are created by the Weather Service from data we submit each month through the NOAA Cooperative Observer Program, station ID 023160. Historical Climate Inventories for COOP ID# 023160. This is the only way to access the historical data from 1909 to 2003.
