Biosphere Reserve Information Overview

South Atlantic Costal Plain

Location:     33°45' to 39°45'N; 80°45' to 80°47'W

Elevation:    0 - 100 m above sea level

Congaree National Park preserves the largest contiguous area of old-growth bottomland hardwood forest remaining in the United States. The park is known for its old growth forest, champion sized trees, and high biodiversity.
