OUTCOMES OF PAST RESEARCH, SPECIAL ASSIGNMENTS, AND TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER
- Flagstaff Festival of Science is an annual event that provides an opportunity for children and adults to learn about and experience science in their community.
- Camp Colton is an outdoor camp for 6th graders that teaches them about future career opportunities in natural resources, respect for the outdoor environment, and building healthy friendships.
- FireWorks curriculum for the Southwest Region is based on the RMRS FireWorks curriculum and assists teachers in giving complete and current information about fire in the Southwest to their students.
- Utilization of greenhouse space for local schools to conduct science and research projects aided by RMRS scientists and technicians.
- International Migratory Bird Day is a national event to help raise awareness about the many migratory birds that breed in the United States.
- Becoming an Outdoors Woman, a program funded through the Arizona Wildlife Federation, brings adult women together for a unique opportunity to learn valuable outdoor skills and develop an appreciation for wildlife and natural resources.
- The Natural Inquirer is a journal geared toward middle school-aged children that focuses on Forest Service research and scientists and teaches students how to conduct their own mini research projects/activities.
